I am not interested in following a linear
narrative or creating a visual representation of a narrative. I am more interested in using
the bits and pieces of a narrative as triggers to explore memory, history,
and trauma. I'm not exploring trauma per say, it is more how one remembers
traumatic events: the sublimation that occurs and how memory and time become
malleable materials. My work consists of video and until recently small
objects that are related to the videos. The content is a combination
of my emotional and cultural history, as well as my interest in time, memory,
loss and how it all manifests in narrative and images. |
